RedMax's Powerful Backpack Blower Now Available in California
NORCROSS, Ga. – RedMax's powerful EBZ8000 backpack blower is now available in California, and is being distributed by Power Trim Company, located in LaPalma, California.
The EBZ8000 meets with both CARB (California Air Resources Board) and EPA 2005 clean air standards without the need for a hot, heavy catalytic converter.
Tommy Tanaka, Redmax marketing manager, says the unit’s delayed release in California was caused by CARB compliance classifications that listed handhelds as containing an engine of 65 cc or less. The organization recently raised the displacement to 75 cc, allowing the EBZ8000, with its 4.6 horsepower, 72 cc Starto-Charged, two-cycle engine to be approved.
The Strato-Charged engine meets clean air standards by introducing fresh air into the engine between the exhaust gases and the fresh charge of air/fuel mix. This eliminates the need for a catalytic converter, which generates extremely hot exhaust gas. Pure two-cycle engines like those in RedMax Strato-Charged products have fewer moving parts than a four-cycle engine. This increases reliability and reduces maintenance, especially valve maintenance.
The 24.9 lb EBZ8000 moves a maximum of 943 CFM of air at speeds of up to
203 mph. RedMax's FreeFlow system protects the engine from overheating, which can cause piston seizure. The Fresh Flow two-stage air cleaner protects the engine from dust and dirt, extending engine life.
The ergonomic design maximizes productivity and operator comfort. It features air cooling and lumbar support, as well as extra wide straps and a left or right hand throttle. A waist belt is also included.
